Last night in Eugene

So we roll into Eugene mid afternoon and find a nice little coffee shop downtown called Gary's Coffee which has free wifi and great joe. We hung out most of the afternoon there waiting for Chuck to get off work. Free from the bounds of work, we went to Sam's Garage for some dank veggie eats and dollar PBRs (yep arkies fit right in here in eugene). We went back to chucks to drink beer and shower (it had been about four days for me, and after bush wacking our way up one of the sisters mountains, I had aquired a nice layer of ingrained dirt)

clean again for the first time in awhile, we rolled back to sams to check out the bluegrass night they had going on. I was pleasantly suprised at who showed up for the bluegrass jam there were about six to eight musicans who rotated in and out playing a variety of instruments and all of them were really good. Justin was in heaven listening to the bluegrass and I ended up meeting a whole team of roller girls who were friends of Chuck. They were a hell of a riot and kept the night interesting. I mainly hung out with Des, a hippie from LA sporting dready buns and a familiar smile. It turns out she was the most hardcore on the team, though honestly, you'd never of guessed it. She had a laundry list of injuries she had incured over the years of roller derby, broken ankle, broken wrist, torn ACL, this girl had been through the wringer, and still she was grinning and stoked to start another season of thrashing about in a mini skirt.

As the night wound down my intoxicated ass decided to invest in a piece of pizza and sobered up enough to go back to chucks and pass out. All in all I had a blast in Eugene and ended up spending more than I had aloted, but thats how life goes. I'll be munching on ramen and boil in a bag meals for a minute to try to catch up on my funding alotment but c'est la vie.

today we are heading west on highway 126 twords the coast and whatever waits in store for us there. I'm excited as always about the adventure and looking forward to eat some seafood, preferably on the cheap!

well thats all for now, I'll transcribe my trip journal later. keep it goan
